RECENT RESULTS*


We focus on the best outcomes for our clients whether the matter is large or small.  Often the best result is a settlement or other outcome short of court resolution.  However, not all cases can be summarily resolved.  While approximately 95% of cases do resolve short of adjudication, our attorneys have enjoyed a particularly impressive record in court, arbitration and transactional results.  Here is just a sample of the recent results our attorneys have achieved for their clients:


  • Obtained summary judgment for Trustee client on probate petition filed by purported beneficiary​ in connection with multi-million dollar estate


  • Obtained $2,700,000 attorneys' fee award for client in connection with real estate dispute


  • ​Successfully defended against lawsuit by mortgage company seeking more than $20,000,000 for breach of contract, non-solicitation and trade secrets


  • California Appellate Court approval of award of $6,100,000, plus interest and attorneys' fees, in favor of real estate developer client, after 30-day trial involving a complex partnership dispute ​​


  • AAA arbitration award of $73,125 plus interest and costs in breach of contract/general contractor case


  • Defense verdict, after five day trial, for client sued for overtime wages, missed meal and rest breaks, wage statement violations, waiting time penalties and statutory attorneys' fees. Court ruled plaintiff must pay client's costs
                                     

  • Defense verdict on behalf of client in defense of collection action by Bank of America; Judge awarded $101,000 in attorneys' fees and costs to the firm 

  • Defense verdict in wage and hour dispute in front of labor commissioner; defense verdict in follow-up Superior Court bench trial de novo

  • Completed successful $18,000,000 transaction involving sale of client's business to publicly held French company

  • $348,000 bench verdict in wage and hour case

  • Defense verdict in Federal District Court involving a fraud claim resulting in a complete dismissal for clients

  • Bench verdict of $125,000 in homeowner dispute with general contractor

  • Defense verdict on behalf of a client sued for civil harassment by a neighbor

  • Defense verdict in bench trial concerning several million dollars in fraud and breach of contract allegations

  • Limited client's liability to the amount of an admitted personal guarantee in jury trial where plaintiff was seeking an additional $5,000,000 in fraud charges

  • $400,000 settlement for client in sexual harassment lawsuit

  • Court of Appeal decision supporting firm's defense verdict for client sued for alleged ownership interest in commercial property

  • $37,000,000 settlement in class action litigation: 7-Eleven Owners for Fair Franchising v. The Southland Corp.

  • $225,000 settlement in wage and hour/wrongful termination lawsuit

  • Defense verdict in arbitration for a franchise business owner selling lease and assorted assets

  • Judgment in San Bernardino Superior Court for $258,977 for commission salesperson and entity against manufacturer for refusal to pay commissions owed


  • Judgments totaling $632,072 for investors involved in real estate partnership

  • Defense verdict for commercial client in unlawful detainer case after 4-day jury trial

  • Judgment for $158,618 for investor in real estate company

  • Judgment of $131,664 for purchaser of sporting event tickets against ticket brokers

  • Defense verdict for client sued for alleged ownership interest in commercial real property
